Experience Tequila is an official partner of the Tequila Trail (“La Ruta del Tequila“), and a recipient of the Tequila Regulatory Council‘s prestigious “Double T” certification. We are the only company from outside Mexico, and the only native English speakers to earn this honor. The certification indicates that Experience Tequila proudly promotes the region’s culture, involves the local population, employs sustainable environmental practices, provides excellent customer service and educates guests about CRT regulations for the production and consumption of authentic tequila.
Experience Tequila founder Clayton Szczech is a student of maestra tequilera Ana María Romero. As part of his ongoing study, he obtained a diploma in Sensory Evaluation of Tequila from Vino y Capacitación in Guadalajara in March, 2011. Maestra Romero was one of the first catadores (professional tasters) of tequila, is the creator of the tequila aroma wheel and the author of Las Aromas del Tequila. She is internationally recognized as one of the foremost experts in tasting and evaluating tequila.
In July 2010, Experience Tequila founder Clayton Szczech was named honorary Tequila Ambassador of Trébol Restaurant, 
Portland Oregon’s premier tequila bar. As Ambassador, Clayton hosts the monthly Portland Tequila Tasting Club, is involved in staff trainings and development (including two staff trips to Tequila), product selection and client education.
